About Extravagant Grace

Mission & Purpose

"All of this is for your benefit. And as God's grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving and God will receive more and more glory." 2 Corinthians 4:15
Extravagant Grace is about the business spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ while reaching women of all ages with God's message of extravagant grace, love, hope, forgiveness, and transformation.

Essential to this mission is the most important grace of all: that which is offered to us through Jesus Christ. God sent His beloved son to live on this earth, to die on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, and to rise again, so that when we believe in Him as Lord and Savior we may have eternal life. God's grace is extravagant! Not only does He offer us a place in heaven through faith in Jesus as Lord, but He provides a way through Christ's shed blood to have a right relationship with Him. Soaking in that truth is an ongoing process. Extravagant Grace is on the mission of doing just that together, shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand, walking each other to the cross into the arms of a loving, powerful Savior.

Who is this gal behind the scenes?

The question I prefer to answer is who am I in God's sight? That is much easier to define, although not always easy to believe. I know for a fact that I am sinner, saved by grace through the incredible sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins. I know that I am dearly loved by God and beautifully and wonderfully made. I know that I am the daughter of the King and child of a compassionate Abba. But what you want to know is probably something more like this...

I am the blessed wife of a kind, loving, patient out-door's man, and the stay-at-home mommy to four uniquely created kids, all under the age of eight, include toddler-aged twins.

My bachelors in English Writing Arts and Art has been put to professional use as an editorial assistant for a science journal, a web designer and editor, and a desktop publishing designer. However, the most rewarding and most difficult of all my "employed positions" was as a dorm head supervising twenty teenage girls. Professionally speaking, I am on sabbatical, as I focus 100% raising my children and learning how to do this thing they call motherhood.

My passions overlap my faith, and my faith seems to determine my passions. So, in addition to being a mommy, wife, and keeper of the home, I am also a writer (freelance and for Faith Lifts), blossoming Bible study teacher, friend, encourager for women's gatherings great and small, mentor of teen girls (especially the rough around the edges type), painter, knitter, constantly procrastinating scrapbooker, frustrated potter, and impulsive re-arranger (of the furniture, drawers, closets, and even other peoples homes, on occasion). Ultimately, I am a work in progress, delighted to realize that I am made by a creative God that has a mighty plan for His work ahead!

The most important thing for you to know is that I am very much aware of God's grace and mercy on my life because I spent the first 20 years without Him. Thanks to God's EXTRAVAGANT grace, I've come to see life through the lens of love wrapped in forgiveness, mercy wrapped in compassion, and humility wrapped up in real experience. It is overwhelming. God's love is amazing. And His extravagant grace is available to all of us...a message I am compelled to share with others, as I continue to learn it day by day.

"By God's grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading the good news." Ephesians 3:7

...and a word of thanks

Extravagant Grace is only possibly through the extravagant grace, love, mercy and inspiration of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God continues to give me fresh material to write about, and a passion to do so. Yet, I am keenly aware that it would not be possible without the encouragement and patience of my husband, children, and very important loved ones. It is also my hope and prayer that you would give God the glory and credit for any blessing you receive when clicking around this site.
