Extravagant Grace is about the business spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ while reaching women of all ages with God's message of extravagant grace, love, hope, forgiveness, and transformation.
"All of this is for your benefit. And as God's grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving and God will receive more and more glory." 2 Corinthians 4:15God sent His beloved Son to live on this earth, to die on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, and to rise again, so that when we believe in Him as Lord and Savior we may have eternal life. God's grace is extravagant! Not only does He offer us a place in heaven through faith in Jesus as Lord, but He provides a way through Christ's shed blood to have a right relationship with Him. Soaking in that truth is an ongoing process. Extravagant Grace is about the mission of do just that together, shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand, walking each other to the cross into the arms of a loving, powerful Savior.
The question I prefer to answer is who am I in God's sight? That is much easier to define, although not always easy to believe. I know for a fact that I am sinner, saved by grace through the incredible sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins. I know that I am dearly loved by God and beautifully and wonderfully made. I know that I am the daughter of the King and child of a compassionate Abba. But what you want to know is probably something more like this...
I am the blessed wife of a kind, loving, patient, tech-savvy, outdoors man, and the stay-at-home mommy to four uniquely created kids, all under the age of ten, include preschool-age twins. I am also the blessed spiritual mother of an 19-year old gal, who lives with us when she's not studying hard a college.
I earned a bachelors in English Writing Arts and Art, which has been put to professional use as an editorial assistant for a science journal, a web designer and editor, and a graphic designer. The most rewarding and most difficult of all my "employed positions" was as a dorm head supervising twenty teenage girls. Professionally speaking, I am on sabbatical, as I focus 100% on raising my children and learning how to do this thing called motherhood.
Yet even in this season of mothering young children, I can't help but share the Good News. My passions overlap my faith, and my faith seems to determine my passions. I've come to learn in the throws of diaper duty that...we really are "...a letter from Christ...written not with ink but with the spirit of the living God...on tablets of human hearts..." (2 Corinthians 3:3). Our circumstances, and the littlest details of our days, shape us and tell a story of the God in whom we put our hope and trust. From that placing of learning I am compelled to share with others through writing, speaking, and teaching women of all ages (including teen gals) in gatherings great and small.
I count it a privilege to offer you my heart, as a living testimony of God’s extravagant grace, love, and transforming power. It is my prayer that you’ll walk away renewed and refreshed for the journey ahead.
The most important thing for you to know is that I am very much aware of God's grace and mercy on my life because I spent the first 20 years without Him. Thanks to God's EXTRAVAGANT grace, I've come to see life through the lens of love wrapped in forgiveness, mercy wrapped in compassion, and humility wrapped up in real experience. It is overwhelming. God's love is amazing. And His extravagant grace is available to all of us...a message I am compelled to share with others, as I continue to learn it day by day.
"By God's grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading the good news." Ephesians 3:7
