DAY 11
God's Truth
Psalm 62:1-2
I wait quietly before God,
for my victory comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will never be shaken.
Attitude Adjustment
How are you doing today? Are you feeling strong in the Lord or weak today? Do you sense His presence or are you feeling all alone?
It is so interesting to me that I seem to walk in one of three spiritual mindsets:
- praising God when things are absolutely glorious
- ignoring God when things are neither here nor there
- crying out to God when things are just terrible
What I'm beginning to realize more and more is that our spiritual mindset should not be influenced by our circumstances. Our understanding of Scripture, and ability to speak it and believe it, needs to be more than a spontaneous expression of praise or a desperate cry for help. We need to know the Word well, and dwell on it until it is a part of our natural thinking.
Let me humbly admit that this Scripture seemed irrelevant just thirty minutes ago. I had no idea what to write about this verse that seemed so meaningful when I selected it days ago. Until I considered a trial a friend is going through. She must...
wait quietly before God...This Scripture seemed irrelevant to me in my neither here nor there spiritual mindset, while at the same time may mean everything to my friend. But how untrue! The Word of God should mean everything to all of us all the time. Scripture isn't significant only when we are facing trials! We must studied the Word of God, consider it's meaning in every situation, and allow the Lord to impart it in our minds and hearts for the time when its truth will be realized!
Indeed, her victory comes from him...
Absolutely, He alone is her rock and her salvation...
Without a doubt, God is her fortress where she will never be shaken....
Will you take time today to memorize this Scripture? To speak it out loud? To share it with your family? Just maybe, the Lord has a truth wrapped up in this Word that He wants you to know in every spiritual mindset as well!

So lovely my friend. I received my book in the mail today, look so forward to reading it.
love the post.. you know as of late, I catch myself actually praising God for more things that not... in odd situations when I used to not always say the right things. It is so important to make an effort in giving Him praise all the time.
hugs and prayers!
Truly the Word of God is sweet, I have seen profound change in my heart and in circumstances as the Lord has taught me to proclaim it over my life, my family, and those circumstances like you are referring to your friends are enduring right now. I have many friends in situations like that-overwhelming really. Praise HIM in the storm, and strength comes somehow. Thanks for sharing the light!! "Praying Gods Word" by Beth Moore has been very helpful in bringing freedom to many that I know (including me), as well as Stormie Omartian's books Power of a Praying Parent. I have used it many many times for peace and clarity. I also love 31 Days of Praise (I may have seen that listed on your site).
Dear Elisa,
This is my first visit to your beautiful blog! Wow, I've been sitting here a long time reading many of your posts and enjoying all the wonderful art.
God is truly using you to touch so many lives.
I loved today's post.
I've learned it's truly in the hard times our faith is either shaken or strengthened. My son was diagnosed with a brain tumor 5 years ago.
Through this amazing journey I've seen the goodness of our amazing God, His faithfulness, and I've been held by his love.
My prayer has always been "be glorified" oh Lord!
I'll be back, you are such a blessing...
Susan
PS I just started a blog, I would love to include yours on my list?
