Live Well Wednesdays ~ Success and Goal

I think the best way for me to participate in Live Well on Wednesdays, hosted by Darlene at CWO, is to reflect on my Live Well goals by sharing one success from the past week and one goal that I'll focus on in the coming week.

Success
I hauled my body out of bed this past Monday and this morning at 6:00 am to go for a run/walk. Although every muscle, organ, and fluid-producing part of my body was in revolt, I did it, and it feels good. Thank you, Lord, for being the nudge I needed when my spirit was second-guessing this plan!

Goal
To get on my knees in prayer before the Lord each day. For me, the knee part is the critical point, as well as being without my prayer journal and just being still before the Lord. I have bad knees and never liked kneeling. But there is something in the discomfort of it that feels necessary right now, as though the Lord is teaching me that life is not comfortable, but He will provide and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. It is about trust, too. I need to pray on my knees as a way of practicing trusting God and getting comfortable with being still before Him.

Be sure to stop over here to be inspired by other ladies committing to live well, too! And thanks for coming by to read my thoughts.

I LOVE your idea of focusing on a success story from the past week and a goal for the upcoming week! From now on, that's going to be my style, too!! (Hope you don't mind. I'll make sure I give you credit for the inspiration on my next weigh-in post!!)

Prayer is definitely the key and an area I need much improvement. That will be MY main goal this week, too. I often say it, but this week, I'm really gonna DO it.

On your knees...I LOVE that...:)
and Congratulations on HAULING yourself out of the bed...the colder it gets, the harder it gets...my walking partner is a cold whimp ;) and she is stopping for the winter..can't go it alone here in the dark..so on the bike I go..or those pilate videos..the kiddos join in too (not always the contemplative mood with them:)) but none the less effective:)

I admire you!
~Just doing it~~
Peace,
lori

What I love is that you didn't focus on the failures. The success is a great idea. I might use this format sometime too. And way to go on getting out for the run!

I have been moved A LOT lately to get down on my knees when praying. Before, I would lay in bed and say my prayers as I was going to sleep. Lately though, GOD has been telling me to get out of bed and get on my knees. I agree that there is something to the pain of kneeling. It's never as bad as what HE endured for us!
