Intentional Living: 8 in 2008

Photobucket

How would you like to join me for
8 in 2008?

Are you looking for an opportunity to live intentionally?

Are you determined to not let another year go by just wishing and hoping for worthwhile change?

Then 8 in 2008 may be just the inspiration you need!

Play Along...

It is easy to play along. Just pick out 8 things you'd like to see, do, feel, or experience in 2008! Your list can be spiritual, physical, or emotional, but hopefully not too material! If the Lord leads you, dream big as you share your heart's desires with Him along with a willingness to see His work accomplished in you and through you in 2008.

Some Ideas...

Here's a sneak preview at my partially formed list, just to give you some ideas:
  1. Memorize at least 8 Scriptures.
  2. Get all our photo albums and scrapbooks up to date (I'm way behind and willing to scrap scrapbooking just to get us caught up!!)
  3. Be able to run 8 laps around the track by December 2008.
  4. Pray for my friends and family members to know the love and extravagant grace of Jesus on the 8th of every month.
...You'll just have to come back by on January 8th
to see my remaining 8 in 2008 list!

Get Thinking & Praying...

So, get those thinking caps on and spend some time bruising your knees in prayer to see what should be your 8 in 2008! Remember, it is your list and may be all about "8" or just 8 things that are important to you in this season of your life. Once you have your list in shape, post about it at your blog, then come back here to link up on January 8th!

Accountability Ahead...

To keep us going on 8 in 2008, especially for the kind of things that require a little (or a lot) of self-discipline, we'll do an update on the 8th of every month. Mark your calendars, ladies, so that you won't forget to swing back to Extravagant Grace to post a link to your blog! We're in this intentional, grace-filled living together!

OK, Count me in! I've been asking my family of four what their New Year's Resolutions are and there hasn't been any enthusiasm. God has been working pretty hard on me in 2007, so I want to seek Him in every aspect of my life for 2008. From the laundry to the world's problems! I can't wait to think of my 8 in 2008! I'll bet I can get the whole family on board with this one! Great idea. V

What a cool idea - I might be joining you. Although I don't make resolutions any longer (since I break them) - I do have plans. We will see how they pan out this year.

Happy New Year to you and yours and may our Lord richly bless you and yours.

What a great idea but not sure about running 8 laps...At this point walking would do me just fine (I have a broken vertabrat or however you spell it right above my tail bone), Needless to say I am moving VERY SLOWLY! I LOVE the scrapbooking plan. Hugs!

I like the fact that you only have to do this once a month in public. Not too long, not too soon.
Beautiful idea. I have already posted about it, will post my list on the 8th. Thank you for the uplift and Happy New Year to you.

I have posted my 8 such as they are. It's going to be tough to remember to make my progress reports on the 8th. I hope this is a catalyst for much growth in this year. Thank you for hosting.

What a wonderful idea! I just happened upon your blog, and even though it is already February, I am still going to work on this. We were all sick with colds, flu, and sinus infection for just about the entire month of January - so I am glad to see February! I'll make my list, post it on my blog, and then come back and leave a link. Thanks for the inspiration1 Nina

What an intriguing idea! I'll definitely think about it and get back to you. This is my first visit to your blog. I found you by clicking on the Live, Love, Laugh link at ‘Creation in Progress’ on my first visit there after Joyce found my Small Reflections blog and left a comment and link. I actually bought those three disks (and a few others) last summer when I was in Taos, NM at a Writer's Retreat ... and I believe in synchronicity (God’s way of remaining anonymous) big time ... so it's no accident that I find myself at your blog this morning!
Hugs and blessings,
