All Better!

Thanks, friends, for your prayers and encouraging comments, which God used to help me to get through my "I'm not laughing yet..." day. The twins went down for a nap after lunch, and awoke hours later like brand new babes. Little Mister greeted me with "I'm no sick anymore!" Little Miss said, "Mommy, I no make burpy anymore!" And with that, the laughter of the morning finally set in.

In hindsight, I think God wanted me home on Friday morning. Somehow, in the midst of it all, I folded three loads of laundry and picked up the house. And Friday afternoon, while the twins were still asleep, I was able to spend some time preparing for an upcoming WOWAM talk on prayer. I can't begin to describe how that hour or so has transformed my understanding of prayer. Just by looking at Scripture, God showed me a dozen reasons why prayer is powerful and purposeful, and opened my eyes to the ways and reasons people of have prayed since the beginning of the world. I have been blown away! I hope to post some of my notes later in the week. In the meantime, you should do a bit of study on your own. Just go to Biblegateway and type in "pray" -- 365 verses later and your understanding of prayer will be transformed, too!

Here are just a few of my favorites to ponder this Sabbath day:

Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

Ephesians 1:18
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

I could go on and on, but I will save more for later this week. The National Day of Prayer is this coming Thursday, May 1. Head over to their site to find out more about this precious day!

Blessings on this Holy Sunday,
