Mother's Day is just around the corner, and with the release of "
I'm Glad I'm a Mom
" from Harvest House Publishers and Hearts-at-Home, I've been busy thinking about this upcoming celebration. As I've proudly worn
my contributor's button, I've been reflecting on the truth that I am really glad I'm a mom, even in the midst of dirty diapers (still), piles of laundry, homework, bickering (yes, much to my dismay, my girls bicker!), and oodles and oodles of hugs, kisses, tears, and laughter.
Are you glad you're a mom, too? Or is this season in your life just slipping by without much appreciation? Reading "
I'm Glad I'm a Mom
" has reminded me that it is truly a privilege to be a mom -- spiritual, physical, adopted, step -- and we should be sincerely glad for a role that offers so much blessing, even if it is in the midst of endless hours of character development.
It is time we start noticing all those blessings, so in preparation for celebrating this Mother's Day, I am offering a little bloggy giveaway. I'm going to present one randomly-drawn winner with a copy of "
I'm Glad I'm a Mom
" just in time for Mother's Day on May 11th! All you have to do to enter this giveaway is --> REVISED: Mister Linky vanished in the design redo, so just LEAVE A COMMENT, with a link to your post by
May 5th, that tells us why you're glad you're a mom! Your post doesn't have to be beautifully written or a long thesis on motherhood. It can be funny or serious, light or deep! Your story won't be the reason you're chosen either, as this is not a writing contest. It is simply a time to share with others about the blessings of motherhood, even if it is about your own mother, and to turn our hearts toward thanksgiving for what God has given us in the month ahead.
Be sure to grab the button and spread the word about this giveaway, too! The more mom stories, the better!
Go ahead ladies! Tell us why you're glad you are a mom!

Too often we let the little things slip away. This reminds me of how precious time is and to savor every moment.
Thanx for the great blog giveaway.
Thanks for the give away Elisa! I will post the button on my blog. I am glad to be a mom for so many reasons. One is just seeing the sweet hope and possibilities in the eyes of my children. The other is knowing that God made them just for me and my husband to raise!
i hope I win! lol but doesn't really matter... I love being a mom! it's the best, most rewarding thing i've ever done!
What could be better than being a mommy? Especially those very first moments in the morning, when go in to get that little baby, and you look over the crib and you get a big goofy toothy grin. Then, when you pick up your baby and they still have that sleepy baby smell...
I love being a mom. I can't imagine life without my kids.
Being a mother of two sons, age 28 and 22, has been one of the most rewarding things in my life. They have taught me so many things, as well as I have taught them. Our bond in life is forever. I think the biggest thing in life, no matter how old your kids get, you need to tell them that you love them, every chance you get. This will make a future as their mother, a big rewarding success. Everyone will be more loving in their hearts. Building a bond that lasts a lifetime. It doesn't get any better than that. I am so grateful, that I got to experience childhood twice in my life. Happy Mother's Day to all of the great mother's of the world. You should take such great pride and honor in being a mother. It is the most rewarding gift one can receive.
I love being a Mom most when I am tucking my youngest in at night and she wants to spend as much time with me as possible.
I love being a mom- even as a little child, all I ever wanted to be was a mom! I went to college got that infamous degree and immediatly got married and started our family. We have four boys, ages 16, 14, 12 and 10. Yes ALL BOYS! I love it, even in the midst of the tears and struggles and soccer and football, rain and snow....I would not trade it for the world! When I think that much to soon my 16 year old will be heading off to colleg and then marriage and his own family, I get weepy. I know we are to grow them to be able to be on there own, I will miss them all the same! Oh I know they can't stay little for ever nor would I want 3 in diapers at the same time ever again, but oh the memories. Yep! I love being a mom.
Thanks for giving me reason to ponder why I love being a Mom! It is the most fulfilling and the hardest thing I have ever done, but so worth it!
And thanks for the giveaway, if I don't win I am sure I will go buy the book!

Elisa,
Mine's up and running.
Why I love being a mom: One of the reasons I love being a mom is my children show me God.
Thanks for the opportunity.

I am late jumping on board here, but I wanted in on this one. :) I LOVE being a mom, all of it's ups and downs, twists and turns, laundry piles and chaos, it is ultimately a blessing from God. :)
I wrote about some of the interesting things I have learned in my 13 years of motherhood.
Thanks for doing this!
I'm glad I'm a mom because it has taught me patience and that each moment in this life is precious and beautiful and not all about me, work, stuff!
i posted my answer at http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/byourlove1. Would love to win, how fun!

Being a mom has taught me tolerance. I have both enjoyed mothering and felt unappreciated as a mother.
