I just wanted to pop a note of encouragement to all the gals participating in our Pursuing Wellness accountability group. We are still growing, so late-comers, please feel free to join in!
At this point, if you are doing the First Place 4 Health's, Begin With Christ study, you should be working on Day 6. If you have fallen behind, that is okay. See if you can double up, since the work is so short. In preparation for our check-in 0n Friday, I have two suggested assignments for you:
- Try to read the book of John. Yes, this seems like a huge request, especially in the midst of caring for kids or working. But if you can steal away two hours, even broken up, you'll be able to get through the book. I was able to do so yesterday (and the laundry shows for that today), but it was worth the investment of time. Seeing the foundational Scriptures of this study -- especially the I AM verses -- in context is too rich of an experience to pass up! If you mark in your Bible, try to note every I AM verse, keep a list of who Christ says He is, and track the amount of times "believe" (in Christ) is mentioned. There is a message within these Scriptures that is relevant to this journey!
- Once you have gotten through your reading of John, begin writing your wellness journey (dieting and exercise success or failures, and even your salvation testimony) in a post to share at some time during the early part of journey. Do you think having this ready by next Friday is reasonable? It should be short, so that we can read each others relatively quickly. We're laying a stone down, recording where we've been so that we can see how much work the Lord is completing in us!

Hey, I am a little confused. I am not seeing any comments or posts from people who are participating. Is there a special place for this and I am just having a "blonde moment" and can't find it?
So, I know it's been awhile. Sorry :) I really got a lot out of my study of John that you recommended... so much so that I haven't had enough time to blog about all of it!
Put here is a post that was a start: http://preservedbyapromise.blogspot.com/2009/02/im-nathanael.html
