When I looked at the clock last night and the red lights were blaring 11:59 pm, I decided that turning off the alarm was a wise move. I'm so glad I did! We were out late with the kids for a basketball game, and then hubby and I stayed up even later to spend much needed time together. Ideals of getting into bed by 10 pm are wonderful, but some times we just need to forgo our ideals in exchange for something even better -- time with the ones we love.
I feel God's blessing on this decision! God provided exactly what I needed, and all I had to do was role with it. I just finished my Bible reading and prayer time, almost two hours later than usual, and everyone but my eldest is still asleep!
I can see how this 5:16 journey has been about more than rising early to be with Jesus. It has also been about learning to flex and roll with life, without pitching a fit when things don't go my way. It has been about letting go of my ideals of how things should work, while accepting with a joyful heart the way things ultimately turn out. Through learning these lessons and seeing God's faithful provisions, I am trusting God more and more and feeling His peace in unexpected ways. Pretty neat!
Well, while the house is still quiet, I ought to get going on the day! Only one more week of sharing this journey with you! Thanks for being along for the ride! Your words of encouragement have been a real blessing
Heavenly Father, thank you for the blessing of even waking up and having breath this morning. Thank you for your faithfulness, your provisions, and your way of doing things. You made everything we see, feel, experience, and love. Let us rejoice and be glad in it for your glory and honor! In Jesus' Name, Amen!
Psalm 118:24
This is the day the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

We all slept in this morning. It seems like it has been forever since that was possible. It was wonderful!
Smiles!
