1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Many of us have had the opportunity to view the movie, Fireproof, and to witness The Love Dare
movement moving across the country and being supported in so many of our churches. We've been refreshed and reminded to love our spouses in a culture that encourages us to just walk away!
I have been convicted that mom's could stand a few dares as well. That's why I'm bringing on a Mom, I Dare You! 28-day challenge. Yes, for the month of May, I will bring on a dare a day to get women of all ages to love their children -- including spiritual children -- in a tangible manner with a deep Christ-like love! I'm daring us to live out a Godly, sacrificial love to every little one and big one who turns to us for training, mentoring, guidance, encouragement, and support.
I hope you are "all in" on this mom's version of a love dare! Stop by each day for a new challenge. On each post that you leave a comment, you'll automatically be entered into the giveaway. On Mother's Day, I'll draw one winner for a copy of "I'm Glad I'm a Mom: Inspirational Stories of Love, Laughter, and Everyday Life" and on May 30th, I'll draw a second winner for a $10 Starbucks Gift Card. If you post about this on your blog and put the button on your sidebar, you'll get two more entries!
Mom, I Dare You! - Challenge 1
Meditate on the Scripture above, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Consider the ways you are living out this type of love with your children and disciples in the faith. Try to consider your specific actions that demonstrate (or completely oppose) these attributes of love. Confess your failures to the Lord and ask for an extra portion of His love, grace, and perspective. Then choose one area and focus on that for the rest of today and tomorrow.
Jesus, thank you for loving us first!
Because of Him,

Share the Mom Dare!

I'm in...need to be accountable...I love you!
This is wonderful , I am so excited to be able to jump in and participate - I am starting a few days late but figure I will "double up" for the next few days till I am caught up.
As I was reading the first few days of The Love Dare I commented to my hubby how this could be beautifully translated into our relationship with our kids - glad you took the ball and ran with it.
I am going to pop your button on my blog and get a post up in the next day or so as time allows !!
Blessings ;-)
Oh man! I wish I'd seen this sooner! I have a 4 month old and she is just precious. I have to remind myself that as perfect as she is, she is still a sinner. She WILL ineveitably lie to me, hide things me, and Lord only knows what else, so I am trying to prepare now to handle it the best way possible when the time comes.
I will still do the challenge beyond the end date for the contest cuz I think it's pretty neato. I put your button on my blog http://nodaycare.blogspot.com.
You need to do this one again!
