Take a Sabbath Rest!

It is just the beginning of a bright Sunday and I am so looking forward to getting some rest -- in the Lord, in church, with my family, with my friends -- today.

It was a very busy week, culminating in huge yard sale we pulled off yesterday, but by the grace of God. The work was intense and profit little. It would be easy to regret the time investment and become worrisome about the state of our economy as I compare this sale with ones from previous years. But instead, I am going to choose to rest in the Lord today...in His faithfulness, provisions, and the security of eternal future.

And I need to rest, because the next week is packed full: speaking on Tuesday (please pray for me -- it is a big crowd and I am nervous!), sending our spiritually adopted daughter off to Uganda for a month-long missions trip on Wednesday (we covet your prayers for her safety and the work the Lord will do in her and through her), and tending to details of a women's ministry event at church on Thursday.

How funny all these BIG things coincided with lots of bloggy things, like hosting Wordfilled Wednesday and my big 500th Post Party (check out this great prize list!) at the end of this week, too. Pursing Wellness was going to start up this Friday, as wll. NOT! So, my friends, you have one more chance to get involved. Pick up a First Place 4 Health's, Begin With Christ study book and get ready to join in on June 12th instead!

Yes, today I need to rest and be restored by the Lord and fellowship of loved ones. I pray you will take time out of your day to worship the Lord at church, enjoy your family and friends, put your feet up at home, sip a nice cold glass of lemonade, and thank God for the blessing of a Sabbath. I'll think of you, when I am sipping mine this afternoon!

Because of Him,
