This time, I chose a verse that coincides with the memory verse for week 8 in the First Place 4 Health's, Begin With Christ study, which I'm using for the Pursuing Wellness Bible Study and accountability group. I have to say, this study is fantastic. It is about so much more than physical health. It is about spiritual health, weaving Biblical principles into life application in ways I had never conceived of before. For example, the opening prayer for today was about much more than health...

Gracious God, so often I grow impatient. Help me learn to wait on Your will, Your way, and Your time. Amen. The study looked at the parable of the mustard seed, drawing an analogy of how life change will start small but can grow beyond imagination. While I answered the questions in regards to my health and fitness, the prayer and principle drawn from Scripture was relevant to my whole life. The truth is that I have been growing impatient in many areas, wanting to see growth and direction now, not later. So I walked away from today's lesson refueled to wait on the Lord and trust His work in my parenting, marriage, ministry, and health, bringing me right back to the Scripture principle of this week: I will be transformed from the inside out, through the renewing of my mind.

Wonderful scripture, and you learned much my friend.
I have always loved this scripture and have turned to it many times since losing my job as a result of Hurricane Katrina. It's a long story of how all that came to be, much too long for here, but in the past almost now four years I have been learning a lot about trust, about patience, about for once in my life, learning to not be all busy all the time, but to learn to sit and wait and just BE.
Great verse to memorize!!! Love it!
great scripture Lisa! One of my favorite verses too!
I'm struggling with the summer! I usually memorized while waiting for Jeremiah to get out of school. Hopefully on vacation next week I will be able to catch up. Also will be praying over blog makeover. When I get back I will e-mail you!
