Prayer for the Body!

My year of intentional living continues to press on with each passing "9." Today is the 19th, and so I will be lifting up my church and small group in prayer to the Lord.

On the one hand, it is an overwhelming task. On the other, I know it isn't about me telling the Lord what I think He should do, but rather about spending time talking with my Abba about things that concern me in my local body of Christ.

This morning, I can picture the similarity between myself and my daughter, realizing that in the same way she crawled into my lap (and she is almost to big to fit!) and began sharing her thoughts on life and school, the Lord also wants me to snuggle into His laps and tell him exactly how I feel about my church and the needs of my Christian friends.

Prayer is not about commanding God to do something -- boy don't we hate it when someone demands something of us -- but rather an opportunity to share the inside of our souls with our very own, attentive maker. Will you join me today in praying for the body of Christ in your neck of the woods? I hope so.

Delighted to meet you! Glad I stopped by, I'm going to follow and be encouraged and drenched in God's goodness on a regular basis. As a missionary, praying for our neck of the woods is a battle strategy, but thanks for reminding me to use my arsenal of prayer today.

Hugs from this missionary mommy,
Sarah Dawn
