...no, not you, silly. Sure, I can be pretty affectionate, but I'm only interested in getting a smooch from my hubby and a wet kiss from my kiddos, and not one from just a friend.
Unfortunately, that wasn't always the case. As a high school and college gal I rode the front tide of the "friends with benefits" movement. It all happened before I knew any Scripture or understood God's call to remain faithful and pure for marriage. In the seas of emotions I've had over the past fifteen years, I have recognized the consequences but lacked the words to effectively describe the pain and side effects on my marriage.
Now the mystery is over and a language for teaching so many reasons for purity is finally possible. In Kiss Me Again: Restoring Lost Intimacy in Marriage, author Barbara Wilson unlocks the secret. She explains the effects of premarital intimacy (of any kind) and how it destroys the God-designed mechanisms for bonding. She explains,
I'm still in the throws of reading this wonderful, healing book, and will be certain to finish it in the weeks ahead. It has already provided signficant content to begin a dialogue with the young teen girls I mentor, giving me the words and reasons to encourage purity, not only in principle, but with scientific and Biblical relevancy! Thank you, Barbara Wilson and Multonomah books for putting together and investing in such a valuable tool. God will certainly use it to transform the lives of women, and the gals that have found a place in their heart, in the months to come."how powerful invisible bonds from past relationships can cause heartache, disappointment, and distance for couples in the present. Then—with sensitivity, honesty, and hope—Barbara walks you step by step toward healing…and a rekindling of the closeness and passion with your husband that you really want.
With assessment tools, write-in exercises, and gentle guidance, Kiss Me Again offers a biblical plan for rekindling the closeness and passion women long for in marriage. Because no past is beyond the reach of God’s healing touch."
In Kiss Me Again, Wilson:
· Shares her own story of healing and renewed desire
· Helps women forgive themselves and their husbands for past choices
· Shows readers how to break free from “invisible bonds”
· Explains God’s plan for helping a husband and wife to re-bond
· Includes conversation helps for both wives and their husbands
· Helps couples reignite the passion that they thought was lost

My sweet sisters in Christ, if you have a past that lacked purity, no matter how serious or seemingly insignificant, I urge you to pick up this book and learn about God's design for intimacy and bonding in a whole new way. Wouldn't it be wonderful to see women of our day healed, whole, and loving their husbands like never before? Please join me in this journey!
