Live Deeply

It is time to jump right in with Scripture memory for 2010. This verse from 1 John is my theme verse for the year, so I've also selected it for my first verse to memorize.

Lord, I pray for the ability to soak in and retain your Word this year!

What is your Scripture memory verse?

My verse for this year is "She rises while it is still night, and distributes food to her household." Proverbs 31:15. I have a terrible time with sloth and am asking God to make me more like the Proverbs 31 woman.

Hi Lisa, I just found your site today. God sent for sure! LOVE it! I have been praying for my verse to come from God. Once I have it I will be sure to post it. I just wanted to say I will be participating. :) Thank you for continuing something I hadn't heard about before. I love it and will be making a family activity throughout the year as well.

God Bless,
Lyndsay

Hi! This morning as I was getting ready for church I was distracted by wondering what I was going to do without the LPM Memory challenge! I had expected they would be doing it again, but I don't see any indication that they are! So, I started wondering if I should set up a blog just for anyone who wanted to do the same challenge again this year. I was surprised how much I was missing being able to log in with my verse! I couldn't imagine I was the only one thinking that, though, so did a little google search and found your blog! No point in doing something on my own if someone else is already doing it, and mine wouldn't have been so pretty. : ) So, you can count me in! I'm looking forward to getting to know another Siesta. (Are you going to the Celebration event in Houston?)

After an inconsistent Christmas vacation I'm really needing to get back to my early morning Bible study time, so my first verses for 2010 are Psalm 119:135 & 147

"Make your face shine upon your servant and teach me your decrees." "I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word."

Thank you!
~Melissa

Lisa, I really like your verse, and all of the others who have commented, too!
I have started and blogged about it.

For the Jan. 1st, I chose
Isaiah 25:1
O Lord, you are my God,
I will exalt You and praise Your name,
for in perfect faithfulness,
You have done marvelous things,
things planned long ago.

and
then I found Romans 12:1-2NIV
Therefore, I urge you, (sisters)
in view of God's mercy,
to offer your bodies as living sacrifices,
holy and pleasing to God--
this is your spiritual act of worship.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your minds.
Then, you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--
His good pleasing and perfect will.
