24 Verses: John 14:15

Love!

We seek love.

We demand love.

We beg for love.

We manipulate for love.

We look for love in all the wrong places.

We reject love from the God that is love.

We say we love...

others and God, but is there evidence of that in our lives?

Our God-given need to be loved drives us to action, yet how little action accompanies our profession of loves for other, especially God?

Love is not a feeling (although wonderful feelings accompany true love). Love is an action. God says that if we love Him, we will obey His Word.

My friends, when we obey His Word, we will feel His love...a satisfying, thirst-quenching, life-transforming love.

I challenge you...

I encourage you...

This month of love, make a commitment to obey God's Word like never before! Not in a legalistic sense, but with a pure heart and passion to show God your love for Him. Give in, and love.

Surrender to the Lord's Word in a demonstration of your love for Him.

Forgive. Show mercy. Be patient. Endure trials. Practice hospitality. Remain pure. Repent. Be holy. Do these very things, and so many others, carefully given to us in the Word, not for merely as intellectual exercises but for practical application.
Friend, what is the one thing you will strive to obey the Lord in this month, as a demonstration of your love for Him?

Share the principle verse below in a comment or link to a post on your blog.
I will strive, in God's grace and mighty power, to obey the Lord's instruction and warning for the words I choose to speak and the red-flag they are to what is going on in my heart:
Matthew 12:34b-37
For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

By His Grace & Mighty Power.

Love... Next to the names of Jesus it was Our Lords favorite word in all its forms.

Joining with you in the journey of scripture put to heart and memorized in head.

Thank you again for the lovely book. I am finishing one now so I can hurry up and get to it! :)

Be blessed this week sweet sister!

This month I'm starting with memorizing colossians 3:15-17:

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

I wrote about it more on my blog, but your post made me think about how it applies to LOVE. I want to be thankful for God's love for me and to let His peace rule in my heart and in my relationships as I speak and sing the truth in love. How can I be ungrateful when He loves me so much????? : )

Great admonition!

On goal is to memorize the Sermon on the Mount this year. So far I have Matthew 5:1-7 and will work on memorizing up to verse 13 in February.
